On Saturday May 19, 2007, Greater Boston Physicians for Social Responsibility will be sponsoring a one day conference titled "The Medical and Societal Consequences of the Iraq War: Strategies to Promote True Security." The conference will be held at the Old South Church on 645 Boylston Street in Boston (Across from the Boston Public Library).

BU SBRP researcher Tom Webster (Project 2) will be presenting a talk titled "Using GIS to Investigate Health on Cape Cod" at the EPA GIS Spring Meeting on Wednesday, May 16th at 8:30am. For more information on the meeting visit the EPA GIS Workgroup Website and request an account.

BU SBRP researchers Mark Hahn (Project 5) and John Stegeman (Project 6) recently traveled to the 14th International Pollutant Responses in Marine Organisms (PRIMO) Symposium in Florianopolis, Brazil to present their work. Dr. Stegeman presented a history of PRIMO during the Opening Ceremony and chaired a session on "Organic Xenobiotics: mechanisms of detoxification and mechanisms of toxicity." Dr. Hahn also spoke during the Opening Ceremony and chaired a session on "Environmental Genomics."
